Prepare your visit

What should you do before your tattoo session?

ood preparation leads to a smoother process, less discomfort, and a better end result.

Be sure to read this carefully.

Make sure your skin is clean and hydrated: It's crucial that your skin is in optimal condition before getting a tattoo. Clean skin minimizes the risk of infection, while well-hydrated skin absorbs the tattoo ink better, resulting in brighter, longer-lasting colors. Cleanse your skin thoroughly with a mild soap and moisturize with an unscented, hypoallergenic moisturizer. However, avoid using lotion or cream on the day of your appointment, as this can cause the ink to be repelled during tattooing.

Wear comfortable clothing: Choose dark clothing that fits comfortably and can easily be rolled up or lifted, depending on where your tattoo will be placed. This makes it easier for the tattoo artist to access the area being tattooed and can help minimize discomfort during the procedure. For a rib tattoo on women, we strongly recommend wearing a sports bra.

No numbing or blood-thinning substances: Avoid using numbing agents such as lidocaine, or blood-thinning medication such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or alcohol, in the 24 hours before your tattoo appointment. These substances can thin the blood, leading to more bleeding during tattooing and making it harder for your artist to work accurately. Using numbing agents can also lead to complications during the healing process.

Eat a solid breakfast and be well-rested: Make sure you've eaten well, slept well, and are well-rested before going to your tattoo appointment. A solid breakfast/lunch before your appointment gives your body the energy it needs to get through the session comfortably. Sufficient rest is also important, as fatigue can reduce your pain tolerance. Consider bringing earbuds, something to eat, a bottle of water, and a book or magazine in case your session runs a bit longer.

Payments: In the coffee bar, you can pay by cash, QR code, or Bancontact. In the tattoo studio, our artists only accept cash or Payconiq.

Arrive 15 minutes early: To make sure your tattoo session goes smoothly and to allow for any last-minute changes to your design, we recommend arriving 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. This gives us the chance to discuss your design, answer any questions, and make any adjustments before it's actually tattooed. That way, you can put the final touches on it yourself.
